The GLA:D® Knee Osteoarthritis Program is an internationally recognized, 8-week education and supervised exercise program designed to reduce pain and improve mobility, now available in Quebec.

Who This Program Is For
This program may be a good fit if you:
- Moderate to advanced knee osteoarthritis
- Looking to delay knee replacement, on a surgical waitlist, or preparing for surgery
- Knee pain, stiffness, or reduced confidence with walking, stairs, or daily activities
- Unsure how to exercise safely without triggering flare-ups
- Medically stable and able to participate in gentle to moderate activity
- Prefer a small, guided group format rather than navigating this alone

Each participant receives individualized care alongside the benefits of a structured, supportive group environment.
Individual Physiotherapy Evaluation
A 1:1 assessment at the start of the program to review your history, goals, and ensure the program is the right fit.
Two Education Sessions
Structured sessions covering knee osteoarthritis, pain, flare-ups, and how to progress movement safely.
Twice-Weekly Group Exercise
Online group exercise sessions guided by a physiotherapist and tailored to where you are symptomatically.
"Sweet Zone" Movement Framework
A clear framework for staying within a comfortable range, challenging the knee without significantly increasing pain.
Discharge Assessment
An individual session at the end of the program to review progress and plan next steps.
Ongoing Clinical Guidance
Structured oversight throughout the 8 weeks, combining individualized care with the support of a small group.
Program Structure
The Spring GLA:D® Cohort is expected to begin in early May. Final dates are confirmed once the cohort is formed.
Individual physiotherapy evaluation, technology orientation, and two education sessions.
Six weeks of twice-weekly, guided GLA:D® exercise sessions, approximately 45 to 60 minutes per session.
Individual discharge assessment and next-step planning.
Why GLA:D®?
GLA:D® (Good Life with Osteoarthritis in Denmark) is one of the most widely implemented and researched osteoarthritis programs in the world. It combines education and exercise, which research consistently shows is more effective than either alone.

Program Fee
- Individual physiotherapy assessments (start & end)
- 2 education sessions
- 12 guided group exercise sessions
Individual physiotherapy assessments may be eligible for reimbursement through private insurance plans, depending on your coverage.
